Halloween Party Decoration Ideas You Can Use Again Next Year

Most Halloween decorations are bought in October, used once and binned in November. Thin plastic banners, paper cutouts that curl, a bag of cobwebs that never quite comes out of the carpet.

There is another way to do it. Printed foamex props are rigid, waterproof and wipe clean, which means the display you put up this year can be stored flat and brought out again next year. This guide covers our full Halloween range — the cute end, the creepy end and the bits in between — plus how to style them and when to order.

First Decision: Cute or Creepy?

Halloween splits into two completely different parties, and it helps to pick a side before you buy anything.

  • Cute: pastel ghosts, smiling pumpkins and friendly monsters. Right for young children, school and nursery events, and Halloween baby showers.
  • Creepy: vampires, bats and gothic drama. Right for older children, teenagers and grown-up Halloween parties.

Everything below is grouped that way, so you can go straight to your side.

Cute Halloween: Kids' Parties

The MINI Cute Halloween Bundle (£78) is the biggest set in the range — 16 pieces including a ghost in a hat, a ghost with a pumpkin, a large pumpkin, a bat, a Boo sign, lollipops, skulls, sweets and candy corn. The three main cutouts have rear stands, and the smaller pieces are made to sit inside balloon arches or along a dessert table.

The MINI Too Cute to Spook bundle (£78) is a smaller, simpler set: seven pieces — a "Too Cute to Spook" sign, a large ghost, a cat, two pumpkins and two skulls — and every single piece has its own rear stand. If you want a display you can place straight onto the floor or a table with nothing to lean anything against, this is the one.

For the entrance, the Little Monsters Easel Sign (£22 for A2, £30 for A1) is a personalised welcome sign — add the name and age in the personalisation box at checkout, or leave it blank if you prefer. Easel signs are supplied without a stand: prop one against a wall, lean it on a table or display it on an easel.

Planning the party itself, not just the decorations? Our kids' Halloween party guide covers the doorstep, the games and the full setup.

A Little Boo Is on the Way: Halloween Baby Showers

An October baby shower is a gift of a theme, and "Little Boo" is the one people ask for. The MINI Little Boo Halloween Bundle (£78) is ten pieces in soft pinks — a pink haunted house, a pumpkin stack, two little ghosts, a kitten, a striped pumpkin, a cupcake, a ribbon and lollipops — with rear stands on seven of them.

Pair it with the Little Boo Halloween Easel Sign (£22 for A2, £30 for A1), personalised with the name and date at checkout. Afterwards, the personalised sign can also be displayed in the nursery as a keepsake.

If your date is autumn-themed rather than Halloween-themed, the MINI Little Pumpkin Bundle (£78) leans harvest instead of spooky — 14 pieces including a truck, a bear, a pumpkin trio, a rabbit, a goose, acorns and leaves. It works for pumpkin-themed baby showers and autumn first birthdays right through to the end of November, so it earns its keep well past the 31st.

Creepy Halloween: Gothic and Grown-Up

The MINI Daughter of Darkness Bundle (£78) is the dramatic one — twelve pieces including a large circular window, a gothic girl, a cello, a reaching hand, a typewriter, bats and dark flowers. If the brief is moody and black-and-purple, with a dark, theatrical schoolhouse feel, this is the display.

The MINI Vampire Bundle (£78) is seven pieces with real presence — a full bookshelf, two vampires, a blood vial, a bat, a spider and a moon. And the MINI Good and Bad Witches bundle (£75) sits between fairy tale and Halloween: a castle, a princess, a witch, a broom, a witch hat and glass slippers — twelve pieces that also work for a witches-and-wizards birthday any time of year.

How to Style Them

  1. Pick one backdrop spot. A wall behind the dessert table, a corner for photos or the entrance. One strong display beats props scattered around a room.
  2. Build in layers. Largest pieces at the back, standing cutouts in the middle, small pieces tucked into balloon garlands or laid flat on the table.
  3. Add balloons if you want scale. The bundles work particularly well inside or alongside balloon arches — orange and black for classic Halloween, pastels for the cute themes, deep purples for gothic.
  4. Use a sheltered doorstep or porch. Foamex itself is waterproof, but freestanding decorations should be properly secured and brought inside during strong winds or severe weather.
  5. Save the layout. Take a photo of the finished display before you pack it away — next October you can rebuild it in minutes.

Buy Once, Use Every October

Every piece is printed on 5mm waterproof foamex — the same rigid board used for professional signage — and cut to shape in our Nottingham workshop. After the party, wipe everything clean and store it flat. The cost divides by every year you use it, and a themed bundle can come back out for more than just Halloween: the witches set for a fairy-tale birthday, the pumpkin set for any autumn celebration.

When to Order

Halloween is Saturday 31 October this year, and most parties land on the last two weekends of October.

  • Ordering in good time: free standard UK delivery normally takes 4–5 working days. Ordering by mid-October normally leaves time to spare.
  • Cutting it fine: Express delivery is £4.95 and normally takes 1–2 working days — order by 2pm Monday to Friday and Express orders are dispatched the same working day, with 97% arriving the next working day.
  • Ordering for a fixed date? Tell us your event date when you order and we will flag anything that does not fit.
  • Want something bespoke? A custom Halloween design — a specific character style, your colour palette, a name worked into the artwork — runs on our bespoke service: currently 5–7 working days from order to dispatch, plus delivery, with a digital proof to approve before anything is printed. Express delivery is not available on bespoke orders, so allow two to three weeks and order in early October at the latest.

Halloween Questions

Can the props be used outdoors?

Foamex itself is waterproof, so the props can be displayed outdoors temporarily. We recommend using them in a sheltered position, securing any freestanding pieces and bringing them inside during strong winds or severe weather.

Are the bundles personalised?

The bundles come as themed sets and are not personalised. The easel signs are — add the name and age (or name and date) in the personalisation box at checkout, or leave it blank if you would rather add your own lettering.

Do the cutouts stand up on their own?

Each bundle's product page lists exactly which pieces include a rear stand — the main cutouts do, and the smaller accent pieces are designed to sit inside balloon arches, on tables or be attached to a backdrop. Easel signs are supplied without a stand: prop, lean or display on an easel.

Will my order arrive before Halloween?

Ordering by mid-October with free delivery normally leaves a comfortable margin before Halloween. If you’re ordering later, choose Express and tell us your event date at checkout.
